Afro content for all children to enjoy
Owari Kids is a social enterprise making sure that all kids have access to educational and fun content originating from African, Caribbean and Afro-diaspora communities, made for children between 18 months and 7 years.
We put our energy into creating media for young children inspired by the culture and lived experiences we grew up with. We want the world to see the amazing aspects of African and Afro-diasporan cultures, we want to build this world with others, and we want the creators who take part to be able to live from their work.
Our goal is simple. Every child sees themselves at the centre of the story, and every child is welcome under the tree. Belonging by default.
Owari Kids is registering as a Community Interest Company limited by guarantee in England. Our assets will be locked to the community we serve. Trading income from our books and handmade toys, alongside grant funding, goes back into making and platforming children's content from the diaspora.
Inspiring creatives of African and Caribbean heritage to see the value in producing content for children, funding projects and connecting people.
Creating and searching for content that reflects the diverse African and Caribbean communities around the world in a fun and educational way.
Finding innovative ways to sustainably distribute our content, in books, audio and video, as far and wide as possible.

We also make toys by hand
Dolls with natural Afro hair in vibrant wax-print fabrics, supplied in bulk to councils, schools, nurseries and community organisations.
Toys for councils, schools and community organisations
Handmade dolls with natural Afro hair and vibrant wax-print fabrics, alongside crafted wooden pieces. Every child deserves toys in which they can see themselves. Our toys already sit in council settings through a repeat partnership, chosen because representation on the toy shelf matters as much as on the screen.
